BethlehemUSA Video Channel – The power of visual storytelling is why we decided to add this medium to our getting the WORD OUT marketing. The medium of online video, playable in high definition thanks to increasing bandwidth, has been opening up a universe of stories and new ways of digital story telling. We want to bring the SoBeCoWorks members’ entrepreneurial experiences to this online video platform and we created this video channel. With this global medium the whole world with have a window into our community level economic development experience. In the past decade, digital video and the social Web have evolved together, allowing creators to share their work easily across continents. Our launch lineup, for instance, includes pieces by filmmakers from our community, none of whom would likely have discovered each other if it wasn’t for the social media network.

By way of introduction, my name is Santiago Rivera and I am the creator of the BethlehemUSA Video Channel. If you can guess the nationality of my name, you get a prize. (This may be a trick question.) Not only am I a Full Time Member at SoBeCoWorks but I am its owner and CoWorking Host too.

SoBeCoWorks as a shared office space has now been open to the public for 4 years (as of June 1, 2012), building and modifying our business model and working overtime to build a strong “Knowledge Neighborhood” in our community and along the way we have met some super people, some not so nice people, made friends and lost business partners. As I look back fondly on this community vision I realize did best by taking this journey down the road less traveled.
